Selling stuff-advice needed!

Hi everyone!
I'm about done with kids, (for now) but I have tons of baby stuff. I'd like to make some summer holiday money by selling my baby stuff. I'd like to know what people's experiences are of eBay/preloved etc.
I have to admit being new to all of this- I'm good at buying but not so good at letting go :/

When I did a reccie on eBay it looked to me like ordinary people don't sell on there anymore, every ad for a high chair etc looked glossy and for some company.

Would love to hear from people about successful ways to sell stuff you have.

Don't start with a low starting bid. Ebay take commission on inserting items, selling price and postage, plus paypal take a commission on payment made through them.

Postage on items is usually around£3.20, so add a bit extra to allow for packaging ( and ebay commission). Don't under estimate postage costs.

Therefore, if you sell something for z£1.99, you could easily pay £1 in commission.

Put your items on in the evening so they finish in the evening as most people look them.

Be surprised, items you think will sell won't, and the items you least expect to sell do.

Put clear photos on.

I'd say don't bother with eBay and try Gumtree, Facebook selling pages and netmums local pages.

Don't add ebay fees to postage - keep p&p as low as possible. Do a buy it now with best offer and free p&p - and send Hermes if under 1kg. £2.98 and tracked. If items are collected cash only. 20 free listings a month atm. I don't think used baby items will fetch much funds tbh though - local Facebook pages may be much better - and free.

I'd personally sell baby stuff at a Little Pickles Market. There you pay a tenner for a massive table with lots of space around it, set up your stuff, sell for the 2 hours or so the market runs for and keep all the money you take. Quicker, less hassle and likely a better profit margin than selling by ebay unless you have lots of designer clothes.

I stopped selling baby stuff on e-bay as the items didn't get the price I expected,people want things for next to nothing really,better on Netmums Local or Gumtree where you get better prices,I had one lady complain because I missed a button on a brand newly knitted jacket she said the button was hanging off,it wasn't when it was sent but she had ALL the money refunded and that parcel contained 5 x newly knitted items.Stay clear is my advice.Market Stall sounds favourite at least instant cash.Best of luck selling.
