Tell me about seller dashboard and why my scores are no longer private

I have bought a few things off eBay recently and have left feedback based on the 4 criteria that I can. On one of the for one seller I marked the despatch time down to 3 as it took 10 days to even post it after the close of the sake. I left overall positive feedback though with a comment saying great item, took a while to send but worth the wait

Now one month later I am getting an email from the seller asking me to revise the score up and saying that they can see my score in their dashboard report. I didn't know that they could do this and I thought your scores were aggregated with others and remained private.

Is this not the case now?

System has been changed, scores are no longer private in foreseeable future.

I dunno, given that sellers can't even neg buyers, it's not unreasonable for sellers to know who gave low marks and then maybe sellers can actually learn from transaction mistakes. Or block you if they think you were unreasonable. It was possible before, btw, to work out who left low scores, with enough tedious report generating.

I think past scores should remain private, and if they're going to be shown to sellers from now on, eBay should give warning to buyers.

How do you see who has given what DSRs? I've been given a low one and I'd like to see what transaction it was so I can try to understand what the problem was.

Is the seller not just guessing that their low score has come from you because of your comment? I'm an eBay business seller and I don't remember seeing anything on my dashboard that now lets me see individual scores.

Ebay now allows sellers to run a report which shows how many defects they have received on their account in the past year and which items these defects relate to. The report includes any items where scores of 3 or less were left on the rating stars as these now also directly affect a seller.
However Ebay still state that sellers should not contact buyers to question them about why they chose to leave low star ratings.
Sellers are supposed to learn from the report and scores left in order to improve their future performance.

I recently posted about 3 cases where I had received defects due to buyers not reading the listings and opening cases either in haste or because they had ordered a wrong item. I was irritated because I'd done nothing wrong but the cases will still stand against me.

Having recently downloaded one of the reports which shows the star ratings I also have four different buyers in the last 12 months who have left 3 or below yet the feedback from all of them is glowing along the lines of "Fantastic - Thanks"; "Brilliant seller will use again" " Really pleased with item and service" and "Quick delivery great item"
I have had no contact from any of them to express dissatisfaction with what they received.

I have to admit I am mystified yet I cannot get the defect markers revoked as Ebay say the buyers are entitled to leave whatever rating they feel is appropriate even if it contradicts any feedback remarks left. I now have 7 defects for which I can see no justification all of which will affect me as a seller.

slalomsuki I can fully appreciate why you left low stars as an item shouldn't take 10 days to post and in such a case that's reasonable to leave a low rating. Your seller shouldn't be contacting you about the ratings or requesting that you revise them upwards.

I do think that overall Ebay hasn't quite got their new system right though and that a lot of sellers will be penalised unfairly. There are buyers out there who give 3* across the board as standard, think nothing of it and don't justify their reason through communication or feedback.
