Oh... why did I buy from China?

Had heard horror stories about buying from sellers based in China but this seller had good-ish reviews, the dress didn't cost much and it was just what I was looking for.

When it arrived I quickly noticed that it was not the same dress as the photo. It's very close, but obviously a badly executed copy; much higher neckline, different colour lace detailing, not to mention I ordered an 81cm length and its barely even 70cm-which makes it unwearable as it barely covers my bum! My DP and I couldn't stop laughing when I tried it on :)

Anyway... I've decided I'm going to keep it; can use the lace and the zipper, buy some fabric separately and make the dress myself.

So, any advice on what I should do with regards to the seller? Ask for a partial refund? Write a negative review? Write the whole thing off as a bad experience?

WWYD?

open a case and see if ebay will give a no fault refund - unless the seller agrees to a refund without a return. But yes you must neg and leave low stars if it is rubbish and not as described. Why wouldn't you?

Sorry, I worded that terribly: Of course I'll review it - I just meant as I'm keeping it 'for parts' should I only review it and write it off as a bad experience, or should I also ask for a refund. (My fault, I'm an idiot!)

Thanks for the advice, opening a case now.

Ohhh nooooo
I got caught too....I ordered a lovely shirt size 20-22..... It took 6 weeks to arrive and when it I'd I couldn't even get my arms in the arm holes it was so small!
Lesson learnt...... Don't buy clothing from cheap Chinese sellers.

Just I add the seller offered me a £2 refund...which I declined, then a 50% refund (£3) after consideration I declined and left a neg... I felt that if I accepted the partial refund then I couldn't really leave. Neg...and actually I wanted to warn other buyers so they didn't waste their money. I will resell the shirt as a size 12...!

My mum bought a beautiful dress from China in a 16... Fits me perfectly and I'm an 8. You can get some great stuff but I would always order at least three sizes bigger!

Do you think it's because their average size is so much more petite than ours? Some of the sellers just don't have a good grasp of 'western' body shapes I guess!

I did order bigger. I'm a size 8/10 but I ordered the largest size option (XL) and was prepared to take it in when it arrived.

They've offered me a partial refund but asked for a good review based on the fact it arrived quickly! Now that I've looked again at their reviews I can see lots of positive comments on the speed of delivery and not much else!

so they are guilty of feedback extortion too

you do need to neg them - regardless of how much they try and blackmai you.

How much was it?
