Paypal transfer 'pending' - is this normal?

I sold my first item on eBay on Monday, the buyer has paid and I did a transfer from Paypal into my bank account yesterday afternoon but it still says 'pending'. Should I be bothered? A work colleague has said it really ought to have been in my account within 2 hours

can take up to 72 hours - but normally is 2 hours. You checked the bank details are correct?

the 2 hour thing depends on your paypal status.
can take up to 3 days.

Thanks both I have checked the account details, they are definitely OK. Another colleague has just said that because it's my first 'money transfer' transaction it's not unusual for it to take longer so I'll keep looking

It is likely to be because you are new to selling. If your buyer gives pos feedback it should be transferred then or it will clear after a certain time eg 72hrs

As long as it wasn't an echeque - then it will be pending for about 10 days waiting to clear.

The first one takes a little while which is annoying but normal.

Mine go immediately now

same here - when I first started using paypal it would take days, now it takes less than two hours
