Bought an item a few weeks ago of eBay, turned out that i didn't need it, was a huge bargain

So i listed it and the bidding ending up being more than I paid - bonus

I then received a nasty message from the person I bought it from etc

What can I do about it? Am I wrong for selling it for more?

no of course you are not wrong - it is yours to do what you want with. Report the nasty message, and please add them to your blocked bidder list.

What did the message say? Did you reply?

Message was along the lines of

How f*king dare you sell what you bought of me for £19 more... I suggest you let the bidder have it for what you paid... Your f*king wrong for selling for more. Be careful coz I'm watching you

blimey - I hope you reported it to ebay? On the message itself in ebay scroll down and there is a report button. Did you reply?

It is hideous - and wrong too. You can sell it for what you want, it is nothing to do with her.

Who has the time to look at what their buyers are selling anyway? Nuts.

After one incident I had one crazy who amended ALL his listings to say 'Do not buy or sell to MissMilbanke as she is a time waster' (or along those lines) and used the ebay discussion boards to slag me off

I reported him, obviously, and hope he took a serious wrap on the knuckles.

I still have a little spy on him from time to time just to check he's not up to mischief

Hmmm, yes, you do seem to have attracted a nutter there OP. Definitely report but as Butterflyspring says, make sure you block them as a future buyer. It's by no means unheard of that aggrieved sellers will buy in order purely to cause financial loss/damage feedback.

Please report this person. It has nothing to do with them what you do with your property. I have had to re sell a dress I bought for DD as it didn't fit. There is absolutely nothing wrong with doing this. I'm quite shocked at the message you got. Report & block immediately.

Gawd it's weird that they noticed. I don't get that at all. Is seller a business seller, & Did you use the seller's original picture or copy & paste the picture from their original ad? I can't fathom how they found your auction & knew about it otherwise.

1. Block the nasty person from bidding on any of your auctions.

2. Report them to Ebay

3. I'm afraid that would earn neg f/back from me, and it takes a lot for me to be so provoked. If you already left positive f/back you could still leave a followup comment to your original f/back words, to factually report what's happened since (e.g.: "seller very angry after I resold item for more???")

I sold a job lot of books last year left over from a jumble sale. The buyer messaged me and asked if he could come on wednesday. I messaged straight back, yes he could, what time please? Gave him my landline and mobile number as well. He never responded, then when Wednesday came, I messaged saying 'are you still coming today, can you give me an ETA please' - no response.

I work from home so was in for the morning, but had to nip out for 15 mins at lunchtime. When I got back there was an arsey note on the door saying he'd called for books. He messaged me later saying he'd driven a round trip of 150 miles for nothing. I pointed out that whilst Wednesday was fine, he really needed to give me a time!!! I then blocked him.

This year, I again sold the books left over from the jumble sale. This time someone bid on them who had zero feedback, and had registered only that day. Not surprisingly they didn't respond to any messages, and didn't pay or collect the books. I do wonder if it was last year's buyer getting his revenge!

The above story is just to illustrate that there are some strange people on Ebay!!!

Absolute nutter, ignore them!

I just can't believe that some sellers would sit all day searching for items they may have sold,how sad are they ? Last year when I was looking for a spectacular hat for DSs wedding I made what I thought at the time good choices but when they arrived they where just not quite right so I sold them on 3 in total over 2 months and made a profit on all of them and not one complaint from my sellers at all,in fact half the profit went towards a really OTT hat and the other half to the Charity I work for,we can't always gaurentee that something we see in a photograph will suit us can we for goodness sake,so glad you have reported this to e-bay & blocked them morons !!
