Can you sell real fur on eBay?

Yup

Thanks Smile

Does anyone know if it sells or is there somewhere better?

(House clearance, deceased elderly relative Sad, lots of mink)

Generally most large towns have a furrier hidden away somewhere. In my experience they can be a bit odd! They would be able to advise on a specialist seller I reckon. Check your yellow pages/ web.

Thanks - much appreciated. I have stalked eBay for a few days and it doesn't look like it sells. We live in a very rural area but I will have a scout able for local specialist sellers.

It seems a waste to just throw it away.

I did get about "200 for a mink a couple of years ago, what seems to work is to take lots of photos of the items from all angles and big up the brand names - there are people, particularly vintage clothing dealers, who like that sort of thing.

Also this link might be useful.

You could give it to a charity shop? Some take fur, as it is too wasteful to throw it out I agree.

I have done a few times (vintage and more modern), and donated the money to animal charity because I do not agree with fur but hate to see waste.. at least another animal would benefit from something that was/ is wrong… I even sold my late grandmother's 1920's fur gloves, as I would feel wrong to keep fur lying around as a vegetarian and animal lover.
You need to ring around re charity shops. Some charity shops will throw straight in bin or give to rags. I have managed several charity shops so I speak from experience. Scope for example are absolutely not allowed to sell real fur. Some will sell it from the back room i.e. not out on display, Twickenham Scope does this or did, sometimes you will get fur collectors leaving their numbers so you can do a private sale and still put the money through the till…most managers would feel very uncomfortable to have it on display, (and to risk losing customers) and it might be against their shop rules
Most vintage shops would probably sell vintage fur

there is def a market for vintage fur accessories i.e. gloves and stoles,(i've sold both)but i would wait till the right season!
