Should I accept partial refund?

Bought two bottles of spray tanning solution for my Rio spray tan machine, advertised as the correct brand, for £5.00.

The tanning solution I have bought before, same brand, is dark in colour.

When I opened the first bottle this was white.

I know some spray tan solutions are the sort that do not have the instant bronzer, but develop over time, so I assumed this must be the case here. I googled and couldn't find that Rio do a developing spray tan (I've never used one that's white and develops before apart from the instant stuff that is applied with a mitt, so I didn't know/think such types of spray tan existed)!

I applied it as normal. It made absolutely no difference to my skin tone whatsoever. I am very naturally pale, would have noticed even a minor difference.

I don't know what I think's the issue, whether It's not the genuine product, or is faulty or something.

Anyway I contacted the seller, and have a message back saying they're not willing to refund for the bottle I have opened, only the one that's still sealed,if I send it back..., that they didn't state anywhere that the solution is dark in colour (I did mention that this confused me, but it isn't really the point)! and that this is the genuine, untampered with product.

They said it may be that it isn't as strong as the tan I have used before, which is why I've not noticed a difference. I'm the colour of casper the friendly ghost, I would notice ANY difference, the stuff didn't work at all. Should I give bad feedback, say I'm not accepting a partial refund?Or accept it?I know It's only a few £. I find it pretty annoying though!
Thanks !

no I wouldn't - and I would open a case and tell ebay that you don't want to have to pay to return - and I would neg and leave low stars too

sorry but the seller cannot refuse to refund - I wonder if the item is fake?

So yes, do neg and leave low stars and please do open a case too.

Item is not as described - end of -open a case. It didn't work, it's faulty. If the seller doesn't want to help you then yes, that is a case of low stars (3 makes a difference to sellers status). Ebay will find in your favour I'm sure and refund you. You may have to return products. Don't mess about with partials - a bit of a can of worms tbh

Thank you!

I wondered if it was fake, too. Label looks okay but I guess anybody can make a label. And it is suspicious that I can't find anywhere that Rio actually do a white (so as to develop) spray tan.

I don't think It's too petty, regardless of whether it wasn't expensive or not, because I don't think folk should get away with making money by selling people stuff that isn't fit for purpose.

:) I'll update xx

I hope you left a neg too to warn other buyers?
