Hi all, I just saw this on BBC news website LINK
Ebay are recommending users change their passwords. I thought this would be handy to know as I know alot of MNetters use he site x

The article says the site was hacked between feb and march. If I changed my password a few weeks ago (when everyone was on about the heartbleed thing) do you think I have to change it again?

February and March? Bit bloody late to be telling us now!

They did have something about it hidden on an obscure customer services page ages ago. I had a look after the heartbleed thing on here. Wonder why they have now gone all up tempo about it?

I emailed Paypal spam centre last week after I got an email from a woman reading "I think it best you don't hack into my account, thanks. From e* mother of two small boys." and with a PP attachment underneath.
I was [shocked] and the only slightly odd thing I could think of was on ebay when my PP had declined and it said something like "PP has found an alternative means of payment for you, proceed?" and I assumed it was my other debit acc and did. It has never happened like that before so I think it must be connected. I wonder if it is to do with this?

This is nothing to do with Heartbleed I don't think ...someone has hacked into ebay employee accounts...

Will change my password but running out of them now...

Only one other site I use that password and email address on - an obscure thing, no-one could gain anything from logging in as me...I'm not changing that!

Just glad I never linked my paypal automatically etc...

(And wondering if there is some big scam about to happen - or a conspiracy -
we are all logging into all these big sites and changing our passwords for security - but actually the 'hackers' are monitoring them - so they didn't know our paswords before but they do now! ...and in a few months they have full access to all our accounts ....and it takes down the internet and we are all lost cos we can't google everything anymore

  • or the governments keeps quiet - just monitoring everything we do on line and if we step out of line....
Grin)
