Buyer returning item for refund but I have withdrawn money from Paypal

How do I go about refunding buyer when I have already transferred the money into my bank. Can I just pay her though PayPal?

no - you have to refund her via the original payment which requires your paypal account to be in credit. You will have to transfer funds from your bank to paypal first. If you pay her then she can also file with ebay and get refunded twice - plus paying her can incur her fees too.

Unless you have a credit/debit card attached to your paypal account - so you can use it for payments even when there is no/insufficient funds held by PayPal? Then paypal just takes it from the card.

no you actually have to click on her payment in paypal scroll down and hit refund - that is the correct way to do it. Cancels out the paypal fees then too.

When I refunded an item a I had to transfer funds into my paypal account from my bank before refunding. My card is linked to my paypal account as well.

I had to refund when an item arrived broken. I had already used the money in paypal account
I hit refund but unfortunately as there was no credit it took 7 days for the buyer to receive it as it sent an e cheque.
luckily he was ok, it could have been disastrous. I now credit my PayPal if I need to before hitting refund.
