Buyer querying size of item bought - suspect they want a refund, wwyd?

Sold a boys jacket recently - title advertised as aged 5-6, with the detailed description stating "(size 110cms or aged 5-6years)"

They've said that it's not been sized correctly, and have linked to the ebay conversion chart which states 5 Years 104 - 110, 6 Years 110 - 116.

I'm not a professional seller, I just sell bits and pieces that the DCs outgrow. It also states that I do not accept returns in the Returns bit.

Wwyd??

Thanks Nauticant. Yes, I've offered her a full refund upon receipt of the jacket. I pointed out that I described the jacket as 110cms rather than a size range eg 104-110 or 110-116, and as such don't feel it was mid-described.

Hopefully this will be the end of it.

Oh, and as others have said, you don't provide the refund until you have the item back in your hands and it's in the same state as when you sent it.

LavenderGreen14 · 16/05/2014 11:16

no you definitely do not have to pay return postage (unless you want to) - ebay can only refund what the buyer paid you - they cannot and will not take anything over and above that amount.

Thanks so much for your help everyone - you're the best Grin

Get her on your Blocked Bidders List. When it's all settled down come back to this thread & name & share her username. I don't want her buying any of my stuff, either.

BeeMyBaby · 17/05/2014 06:28

I'm amazed that she thinks any seller would give her a full refund and the item, I've only been offered that by sellers when they have sold me a counterfeit item (make-up) and I've complained to eBay. Any clothes items that I've returned would always be at my own expense which is completely reasonable. It'd be interesting to find out if you get them item back in the end or she backs off.

I wonder if OP should just keep teasing out the buyer's attitude in the dispute. It takes a lot for a Ebay buyer to lose a dispute, but this one just might.

SirChenjin · 17/05/2014 12:30

I've offered her a refund and really just want rid of her tbh. I had a look at the feedback she's left for other sellers - she is hard work, believe me. Definitely adding her to Blocked Bidders (she'll be the only one on it in my many years of ebaying)

Hope she sends the item
Back and that'll be the end of it but it does sound like she might have already sold it on already.

DillydollyRIP · 17/05/2014 13:39

Sorry. Didn't mean to say already so many times!

PigletJohn · 17/05/2014 13:57

If she has already sold it, she won't be able to send it back, and you won't have to give a refund.

SirChenjin · 21/05/2014 15:51

An update for anyone who is interested(!) - she's cancelled the dispute, so I guess this means she's keeping the jacket?

OP posts:
gamerchick · 21/05/2014 15:54

so she tried it on and lost.. what a silly arse. Put her on your block list. She'll have sold that jacket on as soon as she got it.

i wonder how many sellers she's tried it on with and won though.

SirChenjin · 21/05/2014 16:27

How do I block a specific user? I can only see a bit where I block users with a certain number of negative feedbacks, that type of thing

Try this link to block people, SirC.

SirChenjin · 21/05/2014 17:59

Thanks Holiday - she's now blocked. As thought, she sold the item on (and sold it for more than she'd bought it for - natch Grin) - the upside is that I get my money and never have to deal with the woman ever again.

I though 110 was age 4-5 years? My DS's 3-4 clothes say 104 amend his 4-5 clothes say 110 in the back. But if you got those measurements from ebay then I would think it is their fault not yours.

Confusedaboutstatements · 29/05/2014 20:25

Never mind, I see we have an update! Will read the whole thread next time :)
