Hi. I'm currently selling a bike on eBay. I've set it as a regular auction with a reserve price as I don't need to get rid of it ASAP.

Someone's messaged me to ask if I will accept a buy it now and at what price? Are they allowed to BIN if it's a regular auction?

Should I tell them my reserve price, I don't really mind if it's BIN or not but I already have some bids and a lot of watches so not sure what the done thing is. Never sold on eBay before.

Thanks

yes you can add a buy it now if you want - up to you if you tell them the reserve.

Just make sure if they collect then cash only, same if they arrange their own courier.

Thanks. I told them my reserve price and they offered £20 lower (reserve £200 offered £180) as the had travel costs.

Not sure what to do now! I want to sell the item but not sure if I could get better if the auction runs.

As you have the reserve you could leave the auction to run but if you don't sell it offer the buyer the lower price.

BIN requesta can either come from someone who is desperate for the item, for whatever reason or a chancer, hoping to get a good price from you.
I think he's the latter you've told him your reserve and he's offered you less. It's up to him now he can bid and if the item isn't worth what you think it is he will win, and if not someone else bidding higher will.
Either was you will have got the maximum price for your item which has to be your objective hasn't it?.

So should I say I'd rather let the auction run to see what price I get. Sorry, never sold anything before!

Let it run, and just reply saying that you're going to do that (without apology).
The worst that can happen is that it doesn't meet your reserve at which point you can relist it. I hope it's set it to finish at a sensible time of day i.e. early evening to maximise buyers Smile

Yes set to finish about half 7. I've got a lot of watchers so hopefully will get bids. If the reserve isn't met, can I sell it to the highest bidder if I want to?
