What kind of paypal account do I need to sell things on ebay?

I've never sold anything before and am very confused! I'm not planning on selling a massive amount of items, just some baby things that are no longer needed.

Also, how do I work out the postage?

I've googled lots about selling but keep getting conflicting information. Can anyone summarise it for me?

You don't need a business paypal account, if that's what you mean.

What to charge for postage is a steep learning curve. I always include delivery in the purchase price so buyers can't complain back at me later. This puts off some buyers, though, who never look at postage charge until after purchase, they only compare sale prices (Heck if I know why they would do that Confused ).

List the things you have to sell & I'll see if I can suggest likely delivery cost to you.

if under 1kg My Hermes are cheapest at £2.98 - much easier and less hassle than RM. And online proof of delivery too.

I have just had to learn about postage costs and this is what I believe to be correct with royal mail (1st class then second class):

large letter less than 100g = 62p/53p
large letter more than 100g goes on weight but there are loads of websites which calculate it for you

small parcel less than 2kg = £3.20/£2.80

It's surprising what can fit as a large letter.

More info on dimensions etc here : www.royalmail.com/price-finder

Thank you for the input. I have a 'premier' paypal account so I assume that's enough. Will look at completed listings to see comparative postage costs and the sites which will calculate it for you.
