Is ia white clothes item and has two distinct marks on it, and is grubby a around the sleeve edges and along the crease down the arm.

The seller has stated that the item had been stored but was dry cleaned before doing so

Never had to go back to a seller before in this way - what's my best approach?

First of all I would contact the seller and explain situation. This way you are giving them the option to put things right. If they refuse to help or don't respond I would open a 'not as described' case through the Resolution Centre. HTH.

I guessed it might be along the lines you suggest.
It really is in a poor state.

Sorry for all the typos above!

I can't believe people sell stuff in that state. Do they think the buyer won't notice!!!

Take photos that show the marks (if you can). You can attach photos to the eBay message.

As above, e-mail the Seller in a polite tone at first & then open an 'item not as described' case if they are either rude or unwilling to help.

And, yes, definitely take photos.

Yes, would email seller then open a case if they're unhelpful.

I received similar state item recently. Seller said 'sold as worn' even though they were described as excellent. I opened a case and returned for a refund. Though I had to pay the return postage which I think is unfair (though sometimes ebay will provide paid for postage returns)
