Help! received two payments for same item!

I sold a designer skirt.
As in all my listings, I requested that payment be made in five days
It wasn't, so I opened a case after approx ten days as Unpaid.
Because I really needed the money, after opening the case I then offered the skirt as 'second chance offer' to the next bidder
They (the second chance person) paid me straightaway.. and since then , the original winner also paid! I didn't realise this could happen! I just wanted to close the case, I thought I had to open an Unpaid to do so. I didn't think the original person would pay me, it took them twelve days to do so
I've now refunded the original person
Really worried I will receive neg feedback from her, as I just received my first recently from someone else (mentioned in other threads , from a conman) which am trying to get removed
If she does, what are my rights?

you prob will get a neg - you can't do a second chance offer until the first case is closed. Plus you will have 2 lots of fees now too. You will need to send a cancellation request and hope they accept it.

You should have opened an unpaid case within 48 hours, you could have closed it 4 days later and then offered to underbidder. Waiting 10 days with no comms for payment is way too long. And pointless stating 5 days if you don't stick to it.

i was tryng to be 'kind ' and not push for payment. but after ten days i really did need that cash. it would be really crap for her to leave me a neg when she took 12 days. however.. i realise i can't stop this :-(

but if you open a case after 2 days they still have another 4 days to pay - there really is no benefit waiting 10 days is there.

Have you sent a cancellation request to get your fees back?

seems like i may get away with it, fingers crossed. Original winner just messaged me and apologised saying they'd been away and didn't know they'd won..and thanked me for the refund. hopefully they'll leave it at that
