Paypal sent me an email a while ago to offer me this option on transactions. It's a great option as it means they pay the seller and I get a chance to make sure the goods are okay before the money is deducted from my account 2 weeks later. I made a few purchases using this method and everything was fine, they send me an email 14 days after purchase to remind me they were taking the money, great! However I have bought a few things over the last couple of weeks and now they are taking the money instantly. I have checked the profile on my Paypal account and it still states 'buy now pay later' as my preferred option but everything I buy on ebay is deducted straight away. I don't understand why this is happening as it worked fine for a while. I have emailed Paypal and they haven't really given me any useful kind of answer (as usual!). I just wondered if anyone else has had this happen?

I'm no expert but I'm wondering whether some people set there auctions out as immediate payment required, I know some or all buy it nows are immediate payment so perhaps some sellers have done the same when doing theirs. I am probably wrong though and some more knowledgeable person will correct me Grin

hi, thank you for the reply. Thats the thing, the seller gets paid immediately by Paypal but the money doesn't get deducted from my account until two weeks later
