How do I post a suit?!

I'm considering selling a fewone of DH suits on eBay - but how on earth do I package and post it without it arriving like an old rag?!

I want to get it ready to go and weighed for an accurate postage price before listing.

Any tips please wise eBayers? TIA!

My Hermes or Collect + will be cheapest, under a fiver to send and online trackable proof of delivery - waterproof mailing bags can be bought on eBay.

package: shallow cardboard box. Look for two equal-size lids or trays in the supermart. Pack with scrunched newspaper or something to prevent it falling to bottom of box and creasing. No polystryrene as the crumbs will stick.

It is easier to fold a jacket collar up, and lapels straight across chest, if you turn it inside out. Remove any belt.

ok I have done this a couple of ways. You can zip it into a suit bag and fold or roll or use a dry cleaning bag if it has been to the cleaners, just ease out the hanger.
Alternatively use tissue paper and pack the suit jacket & trousers separately, folding the trousers in about 3 then wrapping in tissue and the jacket - arms at the back and fold in 2 then wrap in tissue then put both in a bag.

You can get fairly cheap suit bags at Wilkos I think.

Buy a large mailing bag (they sell them at some Post Offices or in stationery shops) these are strong, secure, easy to label and look professional. You could add the cost to your P&P. I think that would be reasonable if you have gone and bought a special size mailing sack. Pack the suit so it doesn't move about too much inside but not scrunched up.

You will need to charge for a medium parcel if sending RM or try a courier service depending on the weight. Send it tracked or at least signed for if it is worth more than £20.

Not the easiest thing to post but any creases should fall out once it is hung & if buyer sees you have made an effort to pack well then you should get decent feedback. Charge enough P&P to cover packing & sending - it can sometimes cost more than you think so check the weight.

I think inside a clean thin bag folded neatly, inside a thin but solid cardboard box.

I would include postage+packing in sale price.

One of those shallow Boden Boxes would be a good shape if you can get hold of one. Tape round to secure.
