Is there a best time to finish your auction, and how long do you usually list items for?

best time to finish an auction is usually on sunday evening, between 7-10pm (peak ebay hours apparently), but saturdays seem to be busy as well.
7 or 10 days is often the best length of time for your auction to run, giving your item the most exposure. I usually do 7 days, sunday to sunday, as its easier then the quickly relist items that haven't sold.

Mon or Tues about 9pm I find. Sunday always used to be rubbish as that was when updates went on and ebay was notoriously slow. 10 day listing can ensure 2 weekends of exposure too, but some buyers don't want to wait that long.

You can list in advance using the scheduling trick, then send live on free listing weekends and avoid the 6p charge.
