Do people really not read descriptions?

This is just a bit of rant really because it's the first "problem" I've encountered during my very short time selling on eBay.

I wish people would read the description properly! Before I buy an item I look at all the photos carefully and I read the description very carefully to ensure I know exactly what I'm buying.

I've just had a buyer message me saying I mis-sold an item to her because it's not what she thought. I replied quoting the description to her which clearly states the item (so she obviously didn't read it before buying). She's replied that she's happy with the item anyway!

Well... why message me then?! Aaaggh.

I know it's all fine and nothing has come of it e.g she's not after a refund. All is good. I was just a bit taken aback by her message, especially as she was in the wrong.

Maybe I'm not cut out for eBay

I had this last year, cost me £50 or so, was very painful. :(

What happened Holiday? Were you the buyer or seller?

I think sometimes if people are using the app on a phone you don't always get the full information.

Tis a pain - but thats seems to be how it is.

I was seller; I sold an item described as very well worn with very long description of faults & tonnes of photos of damage & marks etc. Bidding war, £156 final price. £38 to ship (ouch). Buyer said it was unfit for purpose (because it was very well worn ). They opened & won a case, Ebay kept the FVF (£15) and there was about £7 worth of packing materials, iirc.

I later sold it for £75 to a local collection buyer. I had a squash game with my son on the profits.

I had a ranty email from a buyer saying they were reporting me to paypal for miss-selling an item.

The item (fabric) was 15 inches wide, said 15inches wide in the title, said 15 inches wide in two different paragraphs and had a photo of the roll of fabric with a tape measure on it showing 15 inches wide.

Buyer said it 'should have been 48 inches wide' and 'no, she hadn't read the description'

I blocked her.

No they don't.

Specially not the bit that says 'I do not ship outside the uk'.

And its in my settings too that I don't ship overseas, but they still bid as .co.uk bidders then ask after the item ends what the postage will be to timbuktoo or wherever.

Fed up of it.
