Ending listing early to relist with buy it now option

I've had an item on ebay that has had one bid. Someone has contacted me who wants to buy it outright but of course I can't add a buy it now option to the listing.

Can I end the listing and relist it with a buy it now option?

I dont think you can if there are people already bidding as it wouldn't be fair on them. However I know you can end the listing so maybe you could then relist with a buy it now?

you can cancel bids and add a buy it now, or get the bidder who wants it to bid their amount then you can end to the highest bidder.
