Help! refunded too much to a buyer!

Me again, another problem, my fault entirely!
Was meant to refund postage to someone, £1.70. (he'd bought two very light paper items so it was only fair I should charge for one as I wouldn't be out of pocket by sending two items for £1.70 total P&P)
Went to refund him the £1.70 but accidentally refunded him everything ie the two items totals , and 2 x postage! (nearly a tenner).
What can I do?
Do I have to grovel to him and ask if he can refund ME?!
(he is bidding for more of my items though)

I did this once, an accidental full refund rather than a partial postage refund. To this day, I swear it was PayPal at fault, not me!

Yes, you have to point out what's happened, apologise profusely, send them your email address and ask them to pay you again (and then wait and hope). Luckily my buyer did and was nice about it.

yep - you will just need to grovel and ask them to go to the send money tab from paypal.

I have found that most people on eBay are pretty understanding and will help you. It was a nice gesture for you to refund the overpayment so hopefully your buyer will reciprocate when you contact her. Good luck.
