Using a courier for large items

Hi,
I have only sold a few things on eBay before.

I would like to sell a sofa and some other pieces of furniture.

Any tips on using a courier to deliver? Pitfalls? Costs? Any advice would be much appreciated!!!

There are man-with-a-van sites that will deliver; you post the job you need doing & they compete in giving you lowest price.

Best off making it collect only, though, unless it's extremely special or you live in a high population density area.

I have sold quite a lot of furniture but always as collection only. Not worth risking damage.
