I paid for an ebay item via paypal. When it arrived it wasn't as described, so I asked to send back for a refund. Seller said OK and gave their address. I've got it ready to post, but now seller is saying I cancelled the payment and it's not in their account! I didn't though - it's still showing as completed in my paypal. So I don't have the money - and they are saying they don't either?! Has anyone else had this?

so you have opened a not as described case and the money has been frozen by ebay?

if so, you need to provide tracking proving the item has been received by the seller, signed for can be hit and miss, some posties don't bother with a signature, and then ebay will give you back your money. If you don't give tracking the money will be given back to the seller.

seller should also pay return postage costs too if the item was not as described. You may want to send MyHermes or Collect+ with online proof of delivery rather than with Royal Mail btw.

Hi, thanks for replying - yes I did open a not described case, never done it before. I don't think the seller has either, from what they've said. The local ASDA does Collect+, so I could use that.
