Hello, hardly ever sell on ebay and now I remember why. Last issue I had was with cash on collection so I havent ventured down that path again. I had listed about 10 items - mainly clothing. Partly having a clear out but mainly to get some funds in before christmas.

Now 4 of them havent yet paid - this is over 5 days ago. The most annoying thing is that 2 of them sent me lots of messages while auction still on - asking for buy it now price, asking for measurements of every section of outfit - neck to waist - waist to hips - inner leg- outer leg- inner arm - width of wrist (ok joking now) - but why do they do that and then go quiet. They are coats and jackets so vary in price between £25-£60 (totalling £180 so would like the money). How long do I give them? i sent the invoice as soon as sale ended. I then waited until Friday afternoon and reminded them politely - stressing that I could post sat morning if they paid up. nOthing - not a single response. what do i do next and when? thanks

You can file an unpaid item dispute after 48 hours. That gives them 4 more days to pay; their Email will be overflowing with reminders by then.

Go to Ebay resolution centre (google those 3 words) & follow instructions.

if they pay you still send out very professional 'like. They can still leave FB. If they get in touch to say they'll pay "later" then politely say you can't wait (always be polite).

If they don't pay, after 4 days you can go back to resolution centre and you must actively close the case(s) before relisting (look out for Free listing days to avoid some of the fees).

If they don't pay they can't leave Feedback & you get your fees back, too, so win-win.

As to why don't they pay, only Frith knows.

thanks for advice. Agree on polite messages. I have sent polite with a friendly tone - still no replies or payments today. I think I might go onto John Lewis website and see if they will hold an item for me but I wont pay and wont contact too say when I will pay - what do you think?? Wink

will follow procedures you suggested - thanks

I'm having exactly the same problem, sold about 50 items over the weekend and most of the items were won in the last few seconds but still about 10 people have not paid!

Mailed them last night saying I was going to post office today and that only got one person to pay. I hate eBay but need the cash just now
