I purchased the item last saturday and it was sent (1st class) on monday , was expected to arrive on or begore wedensday but no sign of it yet , I have emailed seller to ask if they have tracking info but they only have pop , Whats my next step if it doesent arrive ? its a xmas gift for dd and will need to buy replacement asap to ensure it arrives before christmas. Probably panicing over nothing but really cant afford to lose the money .

Post is very slow at the moment due to the Christmas rush. I would say most of my parcels are taking 5-10 days to arrive. I wouldn't worry too much yet.

Yes - I had a couple of things expected by Wednesday that were eventually delivered by Royal Mail on Friday. I was starting to get a bit concerned...

Agree all my parcels are taking about an extra week at the moment. I've a few I'm waiting for that I expected midweek. Won't worry till about Wednesday. I've a few I ordered on Tues that are still showing they haven't been dispatched even though the email confirmation said to expect items between 14th and 18th.

IncognitoIsMyFavouriteWord · 14/12/2013 22:30

I'm sorry but none of my parcels have been delayed at all.
None of them posted first class Monday arrived Wednesday.

I ordered something from amazon yesterday arrived today. Now there's a good chance that one was sent guaranteed next day delivery.

I will leave it till tuesday or wednesday before I worry too much but what do I do if it doesent arrive ? , seller has been very helpful so would feel bad opening case especialy so soon before christmas and they have sent it they emailed pop which showed it was posted at 10 am on monday morning. Will need to buy replacement asap if its not showed up though as dd has only asked for 3 things for christmas and this is the most expensive.

after 15 working days it would be considered lost with RM. I hope it wasn't over £20 or the seller won't be able to claim for the loss with certificate of postage if only sent standard post. Could you buy replacement elsewhere with quicker delivery, Amazon maybe?

Route666 · 15/12/2013 15:17

It cost £30 , didnt even think of amazon just hecked and cthere is few available ( its a nintendo ds she is wanting) none through amazon though all private sellers , wish I had checked amazon before . If it doesent turn up will seller not be able to claim through royal mail then ? will leave opening case as long as i can but wont be able to get a replacement until I get a refund.

well you need to open a case now, because you have to wait 8 days to escalate it, I don't know if you will get your refund in time to buy another for christmas delivery.

Seller can only claim £20 as they sent without adequate insurance - this is their fault, not yours. You can open a case with paypal now, (not ebay) and escalate same day btw.

SandyDilbert · 15/12/2013 16:11

and the seller will have to wait another 2 weeks before it is considered lost.

Route666 · 15/12/2013 19:29

Should I contact seller before I open case or open case then message seller, feel terrible doing this its not their fault as they have posted it , what should I say?

well - I think you should wait a bit first - it may arrive tomorrow. Post is very slow and it hasn't even been 5 days yet.
