Buyer asked me to cancel transaction then sent me payment!

Buyer asked me to cancel as soon as he'd won the auction because he did not realise it was a Blu-ray disc (guess he thought it was a dvd).

I sent slightly irritated reply (he is a v experienced ebayer with high feedback) then started the cancellation process.

Then payment arrived by paypal!

I have sent a message asking whether he still wants to cancel and no reply.

What shall I do - can I cancel the cancellation if I don't hear from him?

If no reply send it to him but make sure you send with signature incase he claims not received.

He paid almost immediately, after my first message (which could have been interpreted that i didn't want to cancel)

Item only sold for £10 not worth expensive postage.

and everything is worth sending tracked, that is the terms or paypal after all.

How did you go to cancel; did you file UID or did you send a cancellation request?

I sent a cancellation request via ebay, saying buyer changed mind. Never done that before.

And as for sending tracked - it is just a blu ray disc which sold for £9.50 and I asked for standard postage which is £1.20, I always do proof of posting but am pretty sure I cannot send it tracked at that price.

When did he pay and when do you need to post by (according to your dispatch time in the listing?)

he paid almost immediately and dispatch time is 2 working days (ebay standard) so I need to post by end of tuesday.

if he denies cancel request or it doesn't time out, then you can't try to cancel again.

I sent cancel request about 5 minutes after he messaged me to ask me to cancel.

Probably simultaneously he paid me.

If he would contact me i would refund him and honour the cancellation. Totally confused as to why he won't respond.

No, I'm stumped, maybe try Ebay Live Chat for this one? It's a humdinger.

think I will try contacting him one more time and making it clear that if he still wants to cancel I will give him a refund. I know I can re-sell the item.
