question about returns

I recently sold a top on ebay and when they buyer received it they sent me a message saying there was a small hole in it. I replied, send it back and I will give a full refund.

My question is, how do I get my final selling price fees back off ebay? If I issue a full refund to the buyer, I don't want to have to give ebay anymore money than I have to!

After they send it back, you refund them (including their outbound postage) and then you go to ebay resolution centre to make a cancellation request. Hopefully they will accept this. Follow steps in that order.

Thanks lljkk do I have to refund their postage to return the item to me?
It was a genuine mistake I didn't spot the small hole and their main reason (I think from the way the buyer worded their message) was they didn't like the item. Hadn't read the description correctly, or at the least, filled in the gaps in my description in their own minds and come up with an item completely different to the one I listed, and therefore was disappointed.

Sorry but genuine mistakes don't matter. The Ebay expectation is that sellers offer high quality customer service so Ebay will insist you refund the original postage but reasonable for seller to pay for the return. If you offer the same deal from the start it strengthens your case if you have to appeal any of this to Ebay Customer Services.

If you push them for more, they will be inclined to really damage the item to win their case; whereas you may receive the item back & find no hole at all is there (wouldn't surprise me!).

If you think they're being difficult (scamming, can't read) then add them to your blocked bidders list for future, this link should work.
