I sold some Lelli Kelly boots on ebay on behalf of my sister, they had sequins on the side. My niece wore them a max of 3 times. They sold a week ago and they were delivered last week. She didn't leave any feedback but tonight sent me a message saying that they boots were too tight on her daughter and the zip has come a bit off from where she has tried to zip them off. I'm sure that they can't have shrunk at all because the sequins looked perfect and they hadn't buckled or anything, plus I thought the quality of Lelli Kelly's were high. Anyone have any idea what I should do, how to respond?

It's not your problem if they are too tight. LK shoes are on the small side. Did she break the zip trying to do them up?

SandyDilbert · 19/11/2013 18:40

well - all you can do sadly is ask her to return in the condition in which they were sent for a refund. If she opens a case this is what ebay will tell her to do. She could have worn and damaged them, or bought the wrong size - sadly you won't know.

No, if she has said in a message that the boots are too tight and that they have been damaged when trying them on - how is that the seller's fault? If that is what she has said in her message - tough! If she opens a case, type can send the original message to them. I don't see how they can decide the buyer is at fault there?

eBay isn't sale or return! As long as they were described correctly, I wouldn't take them back.

SandyDilbert · 19/11/2013 18:45

buyers normally do win cases sadly - would be glad to be proved wrong on this one. Ebay may give a no fault refund, but that is quite rare.

Has the buyer said they want to return for a refund? did your listing state they were small for size?

werenotreallyhere · 19/11/2013 18:52

I have no experience of LKs, so couldn't provide that info, I just put in the size the label said. She hasn't said what she wants, just that he daughter is disappointed. I'll message her asking if the damage occurred whilst she tried them on. How much do I have refund if ebay say I have to that? Obviously I've paid fees on top and p&p so will be out of pocket to around £7.

I've just reread, she says her daughter couldn't zip them up as the zip had come a bit detached from the side

Sounds like pulling a fast one.

I do hope you get it resolved without being too much out of pocket

werenotreallyhere · 19/11/2013 18:58

There was a pic of the zips on ebay, I can't see any damage on it. I'm sure I zipped them up as well.

if she does return them ebay will make you refund everything price & P&P, but buyer will need to pay cost of return. You would need to send her a cancellation to get your final fees back.

I wouldn't offer a partial refund, sometimes buyers angle for a partial amount back, but most sellers state return for refund in full, nothing less than that. Some buyers have remorse and will claim damaged for a partial refund and then keep the item, and sometimes you wonder if there was never anything wrong, they just wanted a discount.

SandyDilbert · 19/11/2013 19:02

how much did they sell for, was it a good price? I just wonder if they bid higher than they wanted, or are they saying they want to return for full refund?

werenotreallyhere · 19/11/2013 19:06

They went for £20 + £4.50 p&p, I think she may have seller's remorse, but she said they were a lovely set of boots

all you can do is ask her to return in the condition in which they were sent for a refund. She may return them, she may not. Just have to wait and see sadly.
