Crafty ebay!

I bought two identical items which were posted by the seller on the 11th. They should have arrived by the 14th Nov. So far no sign so thought I would send the Seller an email. Found Seller and hit the Contact tab, wrote email and pressed submit.

And, curses, it appears I have opened a case in the Resolution Centre of which there was no warning. So, as I understand it, if I do have problems getting my goods, they have effectively stopped me opening a case with Paypal.

It used to be easy to email a seller ages ago, seems things have changed and not for the better.

you just need to select other when contacting seller otherwise a case will be opened. Not crafty, just keeps a record of how many times a buyer does it in an attempt to prevent fraud. And you don't need to open a case with paypal if you have opened an ebay one - same difference isn't it?

I agree with OP, it's pants in that what happens is not transparent, although SD is right you'll get your money back regardless of how case opened.

Thanks for your replies. That's the problem, the lack of transparency, thought I was just choosing a heading for email. All I set out to do was send the seller a friendly email asking if he could try to track my parcel.

Oh well, if there is ever a next time I will know better and mean whiles, hope the seller isn't too annoyed!

I had the same thing when seller was away for the weekend and it tied to message them. I sent a message explaining I hadn't meant to open a case but didn't close it till the item was received as I wasn't sure I could open a case against them if things went wrong IYSWIM
