Can a seller do this?

Hi,

I recently bought an item, and then returned it because it didnt match the description. It was too small.

I just checked my account and have received a partial refund from them, so I mailed asking why. They responded saying it was Paypal fees!

Surely this does not apply to the buyer? I understand there are fees when you sell something. Can anybody help me please?

I would say - you paid for returning item - they should refund full amount.

Thanks anti, I actually thought that too and pointed it out in my mail.

It is not a large amount I'm bothered about, just the principal!!!

Tell me you're not fussing over 20p.

No, they can't, but how you proceed depends on how you returned it. If you sent it back tracked, open a paypal claim for 'not as described'. You can enter your tracking into the dispute and gain a full refund including original p+p.

If you didn't send it tracked then you are probably better moving on and leaving appropriate feedback and stars as your seller is likely to deny ever receiving item.

Personally, if this were me and I'd returned it tracked I'd be opening the claim to teach them a bloody lesson cheeky sods.
