I've buggered this right up....

I've just ended an item on eBay (long, boring story but basically it isn't available now) and I didn't realise i couldn't do this in the last 12 hours of an auction. The highest bidder has been advised that they have won the item.

I've messaged them to explain but what happens next?

Presumably my 10 years worth of 100% feedback is shot but is that it? I'm guessing I am also going to be charged seller fees.

I've never ended an item before so didn't realise this would happen.

all you can do is send them a cancellation request, and if they pay refund their money in full.

It was a collection only item so I am hoping they won't make a Paypal payment but of course I would refund straight away.

Do you know how I send a cancellation request? It doesn't seem to be an option on the app?

it is in the resolution centre from the account menu in my ebay - no idea where that is on the app though, sorry.

next time see if you can cancel their bid instead (can usually do that right up to last minute of the auction).

Send them a message straight away. I think personal communication comes across so much better than ebay notifications.

Yes, I agree pinkglittery. I followed the personal message up with a request to cancel and luckily the guy said 'no worries'.

yeah, I only found out recently it was so easy! I'd have to google procedure myself. One of the few things Sellers can do to choose their buyers.

Try the full, classic site baking there's loads of functions on there!

I've learnt how to add the weirdo who sent me a pervy message people to my blocked buyers list too.
