Seller cancelled my bid and resisted.

I was bidding and in the lead - yes it was a cheap price and was ending this morning.

Checked to see how was doing and realised that my bid has been cancelled and the item has been relisted now with a price on it.

I can't seem to find any explanation anywhere, the original listing has ended and shows no bids.

The seller has only sold one item before. Do I just put it down to experience?

there's nothing you can do but avoid that seller in future.
Sorry, do you mean it's been relished for a much higher price, maybe, or BIN?

lljkk · 02/11/2013 09:30

relisTed even

Fourducksate · 02/11/2013 09:43

Thanks for reply

It has been relisted with exactly the same details and has a price on it, but bidding starts at 99p, so not sure what is going on to be honest.

I bid £5.50 and was one of two bids. Now relisted, with price of £35 underneath it. Not sure if that means it has a reserve or not, just says price.

Is the price underneath a Buy-It-Now? Or is it a "RRP = £35!" statement.
Odd...
Try not to take this badly, but are you a naughty buyer? Any unpaid item strikes or do you leave lots of bad feedback?
Maybe it was a mistake on their part to cancel the bid or there was a mistake in the item description so they felt they had to relist?

Lot of trouble to go to for a low value item!

Fourducksate · 02/11/2013 10:08

The price is just 'price', not buy it now, or starts at.

I have 100% feedback, nothing dodgy, or given negative feedback!

I wonder if the seller only having sold one item before, doesnt know what they are doing, realised the item wasn't going to make what they wanted, and what they would have bought it for and panicked.

Tempting to bid again, but definitely will be watching.

I have been on ebay for years and don't really understand it all, only sold four things myself!

I think they are trying to avoid high listing fees, I would report to eBay.

lljkk · 02/11/2013 10:22

report for what, though, Lunar1? What has seller done wrong against the rules?

Yes they sound new, like they are still figuring out how it all works, 4Ducks. I think I would avoid until they get more experience.

SandyDilbert · 02/11/2013 10:40

you can't report a seller for ending an auction early, which is what I presume happened here?

Did they relist it to end at a better time of day?
