sold a buggy for less than I was hoping for. Genuinely believed i'd listed all the faults and described the buggy accurately. However the buyer has contacted me to say they are disappointed with the buggy and that there are two additional faults I failed to mention. I'm not entirely sure I believe them about one of the faults as it was a tear which I am sure I would have noticed. Anyway I have apologized and offered a full refund for return of the buggy. They replied to say they do not want a full refund but a partial refund as they have already started stripping down the buggy to wash. I am not sure if they are trying it on and don't know how to reply. What would you do? Despite the extra faults they are claiming they still got it for a bargain if their intention to use it for themselves it is genuine as it's fully functional. I've noticed from their feedback that they do a lot of buying and selling of buggies and mark some of these as private sales

Sounds like they buy them and re-sell them for a profit. It's quite black and white to me; either they return it for a refund or accept it in it's current condition. Just the very fact that don't want to return raises suspicion.

It's difficult to prove or disprove that the tear was there and anyway, as you said, you would have noticed it! The only drawback to not giving in to the partial refund could be negative feedback from them, but as long as you respond in a reasonable manner it should not affect your reputation.

Offer full refund for return of the buggy only!!! If they noticed these faults why did they start stripping. The buggy??
