I sold some boots on ebay at the start of September for £9 including p&p.
The buyer then contacted me to say don't send them to such and such address as she's moved and to send them to another one. Too late, they've gone. I got proof of postage and told her this, why didn't she get her mail directed??? Anyway, she never got the boots and they've not been returned here.

Given that these things take a long time, I said wait, the boots might come back to me.
She then sends me an email saying something about her ebay address isn't right and doesn't exist. I checked, and sure enough if doesn't exist (what!??).
I've messaged back saying that basically it's her fault and if she wants to put in a claim for Royal Mail then she can, but I've still not got the boots back.
Tried to contact Royal Mail but can't seem to speak to a real person just a helpline/website. Do I need to do anything?

if they open a not received case you need to refund as you have no proof of delivery. This is why you need to send items with a signature. You can't tell them to claim with royal mail as they don't have the contract with them.

I think sit tight & let them muddle around. If you have proof of posting and it never comes back to you then you can claim for lost item; they are n't supposed to accept anything to non-existent addresses.

It will probably come back to you & you will be out of pocket for postage. If you want to get FVF back you need buyer to agree to cancel so I would be polite to them despite their numptiness. If item comes back to you & they still want it, but won't pay for 2nd lot of postage... I'm not really sure where you stand, then! I'd be phoning Dublin on that one.

AllFur. did you send to the address showing on paypal account or ebay?

Allfurcoatandnoknickers · 04/10/2013 07:33

It was sent using the eBay address which is the one I always use.
Will wait to see if they come back. She's agreed to pay second lot of postage.
