Cancelling a purchase

I bought a couple of items off a seller which, after a month, failed to arrive. I contacted seller who gave a refund but this morning there are 2 cases open to cancel the purchases. I am a little confused as to why seller would open 2 cases stating I do not want the purchases anymore - is this to avoid my leaving possible negative feedback for her? Was not intending on leaving negative feedback given seller refunded, always found it petty to leave bad feedback for something where you have no idea, as the buyer, if the item is genuinely lost in post or not, best to air on side of caution and be fair but am just interested to know why a seller would do this, is it to avoid the feedback issue?

I think it's so she can claim her fees back for each item.

I agree - it's so they don't have to pay final valuation fees for items they haven't received any money for.

Did they tell you why they didn't post them?

it makes no difference to feedback - if you refuse the cases the seller won't get their final fees refunded. If you ignore the cases they will close in a week and seller will still get their fees back.

Thanks for the info - finally I understand it, I was really confused about why this happened. I will go close the cases now then so she gets fees back - the items just did not arrive, assuming they were lost in post. There's been no horrible contact at all, everything polite and nice.

it is standard once you have refunded a buyer for non arrival or breakage to ask them to cancel purchase so can get fees back,

unless seller exceptionally rude or unreasonable or you suspect fruad etc or it took 3 weeks to get refund after request etc it is very mean to refuse, though OK to ignore as then they get fees back after 7 days if you agree they get fees back immediaitely you can still leave feedback in all cases
