Negative FB response...suggestions please

I sold two broken wheels. Listed as broken/for parts. Buyer emailed to say she wanted a refund so I replied asking what it was she wasn't happy about. She said they were broken and I'd listed them as spare parts so I directed her to the 'condition' section which stated broken/for parts. She then emailed to say 'ok' and that was it.

Two hours later she left neg FB and her comment was (N)

I want to reply but not sure what to put. Obviously, I can't put what I'd really like to so I need some polite suggestions, please

Or is it worth asking if eBay will remove it?

I know it's not the end of the world but it's still annoying...and I would have refunded her if she'd insisted but wanted to know what the actual problem was first.

Also, would it be terribly childish/passive aggressive/against the rules if the FB I leave for her went something like this...'sorry you didn't read the listing properly'

depends what her feedback says - but I would wait 24 hours before responding. but no, do not leave her a negative comment - it is against the rules.

i would maybe just reply saying something like "buyer complained that items listed as broken/for parts were broken"

that just lets other users know what happened, in a nutshell

Lily - her FB to me was '(N)' - that was it . Would it be a negative comment if I was just pointing out that I was sorry she hadn't read the listing properly? And, no, I won't respond tonight. I'm not in a rush.

I would just reply and state 'items were as described in the listing - broken/for parts only, not sure why neg feedback?'

and then I wouldn't leave the buyer any feedback at all.

Did you make it absolutely clear in the description that the wheels were broken? I'm not quite sure why you would sell a broken wheel but there you go...

Because I do agree with her that 'spare parts' and 'broken' are two separate things.

Without seeing your listing, difficult to say who is in the wrong.

But clearly she bought 2 wheels thinking they were useable. If you are selling something that is fit for scrap only, then I think the negative feedback is something you will have to suck up.

she said therefore for spare parts that is common on ebay it implies the item is broken and therefore unuseable but you could use it for spare parts for another one often it is cheaper to buy broken item and take the part you require off it than to buy a new part strange but true

give it a couple of days and reply

" Sorry you are unhappy but these were sold as broken and only suitable for spare parts"

Yes, they were clearly listed as broken - in the 'condition' box, I chose the 'for parts/not working' option and in the listing I stated which parts needed replacing for the wheels to be useable.

There are plenty of people buying and selling broken parts...especially the bits I've been buying/selling recently.

Not sure if you've resolved this already but the same thing happened to me. I sold a dress that had a slight tear in the back, took a photo of it and clearly descibed that there was a small tear.
The buyer then left negative feedback, I contacted ebay and they removed the feedback as they said I had clearly shown the damage.
I didn't reply to her negative feedback.
They also said that they had contacted the buyer to remind them about the guidlines of leaving feedback
