Seller trying to make me pay the p&p although I'm collecting

Won an item for just over £14 & p&p was £25 - original thought was they want p&p to make up the money they didn't make on bidding.

I messaged the seller asking to collect which they said was fine.

Went to collect & the seller as for the £25 as well as the £14. I refused to pay the extra as it wasn't packaged or being posted.

They are now threatening a unpaid case as I'm refusing to pay more than the auction price.

What can I do

no it is not allowed - you can report them to ebay. You have emails from them saying you have to pay it?

Can you pay by paypal but the item price only and not the postage - will it let you change the invoice?

Did the listing state that there would be a fee for collection? Or did it only state a fee for p+p?

They can't charge for collection....phone ebay customer services and explain.

Report them for trying to make money out of postage costs.

No collection fee stated. Just collection is possible

Ebay allows sellers to set collection fees. But they must be stated during auction. Otherwise seller is changing Terms of Sale.

They can't suddenly slap a collection fee on afterwards.

I think I'd report the seller for non-performance, Nanny and leave whatever feedback you think reflects your opinion of the situation. You can't make them sell to you but they are making it ridiculous to pay. I wouldn't try to negotiate any more.

You can phone Ebay in Dublin for advice instead, but they don't really want to get involved and it will cost you money to ring them.

You could always pay the full amount, make her post it and they claim item not received

I had this exact issue a month ago, I even posted about it on here.

The seller can't do this, it's against the policy.
Contact ebay and they will send the seller and email warning them about it.
