excluding countries

Can anyone explain how to exclude countries for posting please? I have been able to do this individually when listing but can you set it as a default so I don't have to keep doing it? I am a bit more wary after reading about claims from some countries but don't want to opt for UK only as I sell quite a few things abroad. I generally use previous listings to do new ones so is this why I have to re do the country list every time? If I save the update will the exclusions be there? (hope that makes sense).

I think just dont' offer international postage?

Oh great Lilyblossom that is exactly what I wanted. How do I get to that page please from "my ebay" page? I will try searching it. Thanks very much.

lljkk - I have sold quite a lot internationally and usually it is fine. I would not want to send heavy or fragile items but clothes seem to be ok. It increases the chances of selling things. I send regularly to US and Australia. I just thought I would be cautious about some places in light of what I have read about them.

It's weird, I feel a bit guilty about blocking countries, seems a bit judgemental but I do want to try to prevent difficulties with postage and can't afford to lose money by items needing refunds for not arriving.

yep I agree - prevention is better than cure, or something like that.

btw do the people in the blocked countries just not see your items or does it say on the listing? Just wondered how it works.

just not offering international posting does not work in your blocked bidder requirements you must select the one that says "in countries i do not post to "

they can see your items but can't bid, this means they could still message you and ask if you would let them bid

or else just send international signed for and you are covered
