Still having problems with a seller (a bit long - sorry!)

I posted last week about ending up reporting a seller who listed their item too low then demanded more money when we won the item and the bid didn't cover postage (our maximum bid would have covered postage but no-one bidded against us).

They eventually decided to send the item (they were quite rude in the process).

I had already decided to leave no feedback because I felt bad about reporting them.

This morning I received the picture and found it had a moderate but very noticeable tear in the middle of the picture. First I thought this might be malicious damage but looking at the listing picture you can see it, although on the photo it just looks like part of the picture. They described the item as in good condition and no-one would have been able to see the fault without it being pointed out first.

I now don't know what to do. Do I contact the seller? I wouldn't be interested in a refund because sending the item back would cost me more than I paid. I feel like leaving negetive feedback but don't want to sound like it's related to the payment problem because it's a separate issue although I'm still annoyed about that too.

Help! Confused

leave a neg if you want to - feedback is your own opinion of the whole transaction so leave feedback and stars as you feel fit.

Will you still display the picture, or is it rubbish to you now?

I think you're in full rights to Neg 'em & leave low starts (these hit a seller harder than a Neg does, by the way). But I would probably refrain from a Neg if they offered me as much of a refund as I thought I deserved. So I would ask for that first if I wanted it.

The picture is of no use whatsoever but we only paid a low price so i wouldn't really care about a refund. I'm not really relishing the idea of communicating with the seller again either.

I'm just annoyed because I'd decided to be reasonable and not leave neg feedback over the original issue with the money. Then the item they sent sent was a damaged item.

I'll prob leave it a couple of days before i decide on feedback. Too cross to do it right now!

did you pay them extra or did they let you have it for the original bid?

I offered to accept a refund rather than them being out of pocket, then they could have relisted it, but they decided to send it. Thats why I'm not overly keen on leaving neg feedback.

They have sold a rubbish item without describing it first. They've bed rude to you about the price.

This is what negative feedback is for & it helps other ebayers in deciding who to buy from.

Leave negative feedback.

They've listed it at a low start price and have complained when it went for a low sale price. They miscalculated the postage and complained. They didn't mention that the picture was damaged in the description. They sound like numpties and you will do everyone a favour if you rate the sale as negative.

It isn't hard to be honest and communicative on eBay.. Some people just don't get it.
