Just saw your post lljkk on another thread and had a look at ebid. I didn't know about it. Looks quite good. Has anyone had experience of buying and selling on it or other alternatives to ebay? With the cost of ebay I am wondering if it might be worth going elsewhere but do you lose out on buyers? Also can you list on more than one site to spread the net? I guess that might cause a problem if it was auctions though wouldn't it?

I would love to hear what other people have tried. Etsy is vintage or craft items only isn't it?

Thanks in advance for any thoughts.

A quick browse on ebid and my thoughts are - it is small, so, 3 pages for a search that would be hundreds on ebay but the 3% sellers fee is low and free listing would be good. I wonder if it might take off now ebay is increasing the cost of selling with new fvf rules. I find 10% of sale pretty high to be honest with the paypal fees too.

Looks like a lot of sellers are offering buy rather than bid on ebid. Is that due to lack of bidders for now or do you think they list items on multiple sites?

Sorry to waffle but I am interested. I feel a bit like ebay is rather a monopoly so it might be good to at least investigate elsewhere.

I have looked at gumtree but I don't think it is right for me and I know about Etsy but that is about all I am aware of.

Hi! I haven't a lot of experience.
They charge to sellers much lower fees than Ebay.
DH has written a tool that can browse multiple auction sites at once, but I'm not allowed to share it yet he says (sorry!)...
I bought a bag for DD recently off Ebid that I am happy with, am now eyeing up a toyset for DS, too.
Such an uproar over some recent Ebay changes that there is renewed interest in Ebid etc.

Maybe it's about time another site gave ebay a run for its (vast amounts) of money. I have only just realised paypal is part of ebay so they must be raking it in.
