Unfair negative feedback

I recently sold a brand new, boxed Mac lipstick, clearly stating the colour was 'Ruby Woo,' and the buyer has left feedback saying 'Not as described.'

I contacted them to ask how it wasn't as described and got this response: 'I was expecting a different colour red! I only wear gloss, I don't do matte lipstick! Paid a lot for this, it's not worth it!'

In my opinion, I'm not at fault here as I stated all the item details (including the fact it was a matte lipstick) and it just seems like the buyer is making a fuss over nothing. Also, she paid £6.50 for a lipstick that currently retails for £15 so I don't know why she's complaining about the price.

I've asked eBay to remove the feedback - they said they can't, and told me to send her a feedback revision request, which I have. She has just contacted me to say 'stop harassing me.
I won't change my description, you have done me over!' Done me over?! Confused

What do I do now? Shall I just leave it and put it down to a bad experience? I'm annoyed as I've always had 100% positive feedback and this has brought my rating down.

Thanks in advance.

could you counteract by saying that you described product correctly on the description when you feedback or ask ebay to post a comment from you by her feedback. I have seen this done before.

she could always sell it on. seems really petty.

if i were to buy a lipstick i may check out the colour in the shop first.

What a horrible buyer and petty feedback. I would be annoyed too. I think if she refuses to revise the feedback then you will just have to reply to it so others can see - something calm but factual. "Item was EXACTLY as described. Unfair feedback". I know you can't leave a neg for buyer but can you report them?

lljkk · 19/08/2013 09:37

OP would have no grounds for reporting her. Nicks' suggested reply is good. Or what about:
"Buyer didn't like colour being exactly as described. (???)"

GuffSmuggler · 19/08/2013 11:12

This is so ridiculous ebay allow this nonsense to go on! Sorry OP what an awful buyer Sad

GuffSmuggler · 19/08/2013 11:13

Can you offer a refund in return for the protect?

PRODUCT

Thank you all for your replies and sorry I haven't been back to post until now.

All I've been able to do is reply to her feedback (I used the words suggested by Nicks'). I did actually offer the seller a refund in return for the lipstick but she refused as she has already relisted it!

Guff - completely agree about eBay allowing this nonsense to continue. I don't know why I bother selling on there anymore, seems more hassle than it's worth half the time.

Could I suggest you bid and buy the lipstick and then leave her some appropriate feedback? I've been on the receiving end and the one negative I have is glaring at me!

lljkk · 21/08/2013 16:32

no no, tempting as it is, don't do that. Ebay would spot it as malicious bidding & OP could get banned from selling or buying.
