Feel bad for reporting seller

DP bidded on a picture a few days ago. It had a low starting price and free postage but he put a decent bid in. He won auction for a low price but we assumed it was ok as the seller obviously took a chance that did't pay off (as I have done in the past on ebay).

The seller contacted me earlier (rudely) informing me I'd have to up my bid or take a refund as the bid wouldn't cover postage. I wouldn't have minded if they had asked politely for a contribution. I refused to pay extra on principle but said I'd accept refund.

I contacted ebay because I was worried about my feedback from seller. They asked for the item number etc. They then said they had investigated the seller and acted appropriately. Now I feel bad because I only wanted advice and wasn't wanting to report the seller until I'd thought about it. Not heard from seller since.

Any advice?

yanbu. And I am a cranky seller who thinks all buyers are U. Don't let it worry you.

I would leave them neg feedback stating non performing seller I am afraid, you bought the item fair and square and have absolutely nothing to feel guilty about. They made an error, started at too low a price & for some reason offered free p&p - their mistake and up to them to suck it up sadly. They can't ask you for extra money, that is shifting the goalposts of the auction terms.

And if they leave you bad feedback comment you can ask ebay to remove it, sellers can't leave negs for buyers and neg comments are also not permitted.

Thanks, I always feel guilty and avoid leaving neg feedback where possible but this one really annoyed me.

nothing to feel guilty about at all, feedback is there for you to warn other buyers. You don't have to be nasty or personal about it.

Has the seller relisted it?

Not yet but I'm sure they will. Hopefully they'll remember to include postage this time!
