Non payer, what to do?

I've been using ebay for a couple of months but this is the first time I've had a non payer. The item sold on friday afternoon for just over £50.

After a day I sent an invoice. The buyer sent me a message saying they had a problem with their Paypal and could I give them my mobile number so they can text me when it's fixed. I didn't give them my mobile number because I would have hoped they'd just pay when it was fixed!

On monday I sent a message via ebay saying that unless I received payment by the end of a day I would be opening a non payment case.

On tuesday i opened a non payment case. I've had no contact from the buyer since that first message.

So what happens now? What do ebay actually do in a non payment case? When can I give a second chance offer to the next highest bidder or relist it? Can I leave feedback stating that they didn't pay?

you wait 4 days from Monday, then close the case. Then the buyer gets a strike, you get your fees back and then you can relist or do a 2nd chance offer.

And no you can't leave feedback stating they didn't pay.

I just had a similar problem and was advised to do the following too:

Exclude bids from anyone with non payment strikes - blocked bidders list: offer.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?BidderBlockLogin

Set your buyer preferences: offer.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?BuyerBlockPreferences

This buyer had 100% positive feedback so I wasn't concerned.

I will do that in future crafty thanks for the tip

buyers always do have 100% fb, sellers can't give them negs.
