Address changed ...scam?

A buyer just emailed me asking where his item was; I sent it 10 days ago with proof of postage. I checked his details, and his address was completely different to the address I sent the item to.

I've not quibbled and immediately refunded him in full (was a small amount) as I don't want negative feedback, but I'm so confused! Have I been scammed?

Only ever sent items to the address provided by paypal. You should have proof of that address when you got email confimation of the transaction from Paypal.

you sent to verified paypal address? Has buyer moved recently and not updated their account maybe?

PayPal email states 'new' address (I.e. the one I didn't send item to). However, I just checked the message he sent me via eBay, which states that his location is the same as the 'old' address. Looks like I've been scammed, right?

always send to address on paypal I go to paypal copy address paste onto an address label and then print off packing slip, seller protection only works if you send to paypal

when I was a younger and less wise ebayer i sometimes used to print off address labels from ebay addresses when item sold instead of waiting for payment and got caught out once or twice like you did my sending to an old address as people only realise its wrong address when they pay so they select correct paypal address and there maybe a time lag before they go back and change it on ebay too

you can perfectly legally have 6 paypal addresses I have 3 my own, work in case it arrives on work day and my mothers for when I buy things for her as she has no PC when you go to pay you can select address so I guess he just selected a paypal adresss and having selected before payment just expected you to send it there in this case I reckon just a mistake not a scam
