Buy it Now vs. Auction... ok to change?

Sometimes as a seller I list things at a "Buy it Now" price plus postage I'm ok with, but then it gets so many watchers I think "hmm, maybe I've under-priced this... I should auction it".

Is it ok, with ebay and ebayers generally, to pull an item off "Buy it Now" and start auctioning it with the Buy-it-Now price as starting bid?

Or do you just get annoyed when people do this? Just wondering

You're fine, no rules against that, very reasonable. You do whatever you think will get best price, why wouldn't you?

watchers on BIN ,mean nothing if it was a bargain it would have been snapped up instantly some at watching because they think if not bought in say 10 days you will reduce price by about 10% ( lots of sellers do so that is not a bad assumption)

if it has been on 10 days with no buyer check against completed listings as summer is slow anyway otherwuise either reduce price or send to auction with lower starting price

you know a BIN was possibly underpriced when sold in 2 hours not 30 days

Can I ask a related question please - if you send to auction from a BIN do the watchers you had still see the item or does it start again from fresh (iyswim)? Thanks

Just in case it is of interest to anyone I just sent an item to auction from BIN and it seems to have started again with 0 watchers whereas it had about 30 before. I am not sure whether the item disappears from those watchers' lists or whether it says the item has gone to auction. I just did it as a bit of an experiment really. I had to pay to list it because I started it at 9.99 but maybe you could send BINS to auction on a free list day if they were near the end of the 30 days? Anyone done this?
