Me again!

Just sold my first item on eBay and winning bidder has messaged me to ask if they can collect the item rather than having it posted as they live nearby.

Can anyone advise me on this please?

TIA

I would say yes but pay cash.

queenofthepirates · 30/06/2013 22:10

yep, I would be fine with that! Make sure they pay on collection though otherwise they can claim they didn't receive it and lodge a claim through Paypal (not that they would I'm sure but there are some rotters around).

Thanks, being dim here - if they pay cash on collection do I need to do anything on my ebay account? I thought I would need to ask for payment via PayPal then refund postage but can see this leaves me vulnerable.

Ok to message them and agree cash payment on collection?

Message them- say OK but with cash- then go to account and mark paid. (When you have the money)Just saves the situation that queenofpirates outlines- probably wouldn't but you can't tell.

Thank you. Presume ebay fee is just taken from PayPal when I mark paid?

Ebay fee is taken from your paypal account yes, and it is taken whether you bother to mark it paid or not (I never mark anything paid).

exoticfruits · 01/07/2013 07:55

Yes- you don't have to mark it paid- I just do to 'tidy it up'.

you will get an ebay invoice, and it can be set up for it to be paid from paypal. Details are in your account on ebay.
