Taxes on buying something from Canada.

I have seen a rug I like on eBay but it is being sold from Canada.

Does anyone know how much I could incur in import taxes if I bought this? Is it a percentage of the final price I pay?

Need to work out if it is worth buying or not if the taxes will be high. Thanks.

import taxes are the responsibility of the buyer when item arrives it is a percentage of value as stated on import sticker, ( i think 20% as like VAT but i maybe wrong)

Royal mail charge £8 admin on top of customs charge, but a rug is not going to be delivered by RM but someone like Fedex or UPS

Thanks for replying Sarah. So if I considered an extra 20% on top of the purchase price that should be the most it would be?

Thanks!
