withdrawing items for sale

I was the winning bidder on an item that had no reserve specified in its description. It was withdrawn from sale as it was no longer available to buy. Its reappeared a few hours later with a reserve price. I feel a bit miffed about it - is thus allowed?

no it isn't - you can report as non performing seller and leave appropriate feedback and stars.

when you say you were the winning bidder had the auction finished?

if so Fergoose is right, if however the auction had more than 12 hours to go yes you can cancel all bids say there was a mistake in listing and then relist not good form but within ebay rules
