How have you been posting since Royal Mail doubled prices?

I haven't got around to eBaying since RM introduced the medium parcel, which resulted in doubling the price of posting a single item of clothing. I used Collect + for the parcels I was sending at the time, and although it worked fine, I think £4 is still steep for an item of clothing.

So what to do? I'm still seeing, say, jeans with a £2.50 postage charge for sale. Either the sellers must be taking a hit or don't realise that prices have gone up yet. I could sell in bundles but I personally don't buy that way as I prefer to have more choice.

Is anyone using MyHermes, and if so, how much do they charge to collect?

The other option is Facebook selling pages I suppose, but they're so full of shit all sorts of stuff with no way of filtering, that I can't imagine getting much for decent quality clothes.

My Hermes charge £3.30 for anything up to 1kg & they collect.

So is the collection included in the £3.30? If so that's probably what I'll do.

I've started using myhermes for larger parcels. I'm still using royal mail for smaller items like clothing and charge £3.70 postage.

But to be honest I'm not really selling clothing any more unless it's an expensive brand or saught after item, as people won't pay more than 99p if the postage is nearly £4 -and after fees it's barely worth it.

I think £3.30 with myhermes doesn't include a signature though. If you want a signature for proof of delivery it's £4.

no you don't get a signature - but it does show online as delivered.

I know but myhermes are notorious for putting parcels in strange places and saying they've been 'delivered'.

But I guess you can claim for missing parcels if that happens.

The few of you that use myhermes can you tell me if you can specify the collection time or do you have to stand around waiting for them to turn up?
I like Collect+ as we can just drop at the nearest shop so no waiting around.

no you can't specify collection time, but you can leave in a safe place. My local bloke normally calls same time each day which is handy.

No I've not bothered for a while. Its not worth the effort and its not fun anymore.

I tended to sell outgrown childrens clothes, often really good names. In fact if I chop up my sons gant shirts I'm going to have a lovely collection of cotton dusters !

most my stuff is still cheapest with Royal Mail. Little has changed.

I drop of at newsagents, which is handy because they're open 7-11 (unlike the post office) and there's no queues either

My MyHermes lady is lovely. She always leaves a text number on her parcels. I just text her to let her know I have something to collect.
