Leaving 'negative' comments feedback for non-payer - is it worth it?

Buyer bid on an item and hasn't paid. They were (0) when they bid and are now (3) (all +ve feedback but all with negative/non-payment comments (interestingly all on very similar items to the one I was trying to sell)). I opened and am about to close a case on them for non-payment.

Is it worth my while leaving feedback? (As I can only leave +ve with negative comments) - how can a buyer ever be in negative ratings and therefore struck off of being able to bid on further items?

Can I leave feedback once I've closed the case, or only before I do so?

I would imagine once you have opened a case they will get banned from ebay. Isn't it 3 strikes and your out?

make sure you add them to your banned bidders list just in case though

If it is 3 strikes and you're out, they should, in theory already be out as the other sellers are in the same boat as me (non-payment) and I hope have also opened cases against them.

It's annoying though, because I assume this buyer's doing it for kicks ( ) and will just set up another bogus account somewhere down the line.

I'll add them to banned bidders though, thanks for that tip - how do I go about doing that?

I can never find the link through ebay so I just google "blocking bidders on ebay" and it comes up on there!

Report the buyer to eBay. They collect reports from lots of sellers and can then take action.

I assumed that would be a sensible route too so I clicked on 'report buyer' and it says if this is about non-payment, open a resolution case (which I already have). I suppose I could do this under 'other' in reporting.

I think it's worth doing under "other". I have reported someone today using that category. I would point out thatIt isn't just about this person not paying you, say you suspect fraud due to other comments on their feedback.

is against the rules to leave neg statement for a buyer now.

Really?! Not even a 'did not pay/did not respond to communications' comment?

So my options are to open/close case and report but nothing more?

no - you can't leave a neg comment at all. File the case and they will get a strike.

When you take the option to close case you will be asked if buyer paid; then you can click on "No": you will get a credit for the FVF and they will get a strike against them (Did this myself 30 seconds ago).

you get the option to close the case and get your fees back after 4 days have passed, don't close before then or the buyer won't get a strike, plus you won't get the fvf refunded.

Make sure that you block all bidders with more than 2 strikes within 12 months.

Sorry to hijack but can someone advise me again on what is best to do when I have a non payer who has been doing this regularly. I have a 'buyer' who has 100% positive but actually when you read the comments the 8 at the top say "avoid" "non payer" etc etc. Should I open a case or should I leave a comment or both?

From what I've been advised here - open a case, report and don't leave a comment.

Nope - I clicked on the 'more actions' arrow on the right hand side of where the item is listed in your SOLD list. Down at the bottom it gives you the option to 'report buyer'

Thanks flubber that's really helpful. Then how do you end the sale so you can re-list?

I have two non payers at the moment - including one for an expensive item I sold that had good bids. I am v as I'll probably have to sell for loads less now.

You open a case of non-payment against them (4 calendar days after the item has ended), then wait a further 4(?) days to close the case. When you close the case, you're given the option of saying whether they paid or not, and then you re-list. It's a bugger because of the time delay but you'll get your final sales fees back after that. (You may have 2nd chance offer possibilities if it goes through to that stage, but I've not got to that stage with mine as bidder was only bidder)

sorry you're going through this too - it's a pain in the arse.
