boring question about poor packaging

I collected my item today from the post office. Looks terrible, has been poorly packed rather than manhandled I think. One layer of cheap Christmas paper rather than brown paper - what the actual jeff?

And they have scrawled FRAGILE all over it I am posting more for the point and laugh TBH, it's not a fragile item but I haven't done any feedback yet

It is utterly rubbish though - I would perhaps mention it to the seller, they are lucky the item was sturdy enough to not be damaged I guess? I suppose it also depends on how much they charged for such rubbish packaging.

I had something arrive in a large fruit & nut wrapper once, just poorly taped at one end, with a peeling label with my address and a couple of stamps - sadly no chocolate in it mind :(

well, allegedly a business seller but they paid 5.20 postage with RM. I paid 2.70 ish. They are just foam mats for pinning out my knitting on so no biggie. But I am a bit astounded at the crapness TBH

Yes I agree - a bin bag would have been better!

I once had an item arrive on a tesco carrier bag with minimal sellotape. I was so pleased it had arrived (dubious seller) that I did overlook the crap packaging.

As long as the item has arrived in good condition, why would you care about the packaging?

I'd rather someone recycle old packaging or use a carrier with tape than charge me for new.

Good old royal mail for getting it to you. I think they do a pretty good job and wonder how many parcels really 'go missing'!!

Confirm that the packaging is crap, I'd mention it in the feedback.

I had an item returned to me this week in a plastic bag, the address had been written directly onto the bag in felt tip pen and most of it had rubbed off. You could just make out part of my name and the first section of the postcode.
The buyer had not put a return address label on and despite me specifically asking them to send it tracked it arrived by ordinary 2nd class post. I always pay return postage so my buyer would not have been out of pocket for doing as I requested
It's a miracle that it found it's way to me at all and could easily have ended up as a missing item.

I also once received a set of Christmas lights which were just in an ordinary large size envelope and wrapped in tissue paper. It still amazes me that they arrived in working order and unbroken.

i ordered two posters from amazon, one as a gift for my little cousin and one for ds, the one for the gift showed up early with cardboard wrapped around the middle with 3" each end totally unprotected battered damaged and basically unusable. ds arrived over a month after i ordered it rolled with thin sturdy paper then in a tube then in a what looks like a giant toblerone box... can't have it all!
